This notice applies to visits to this website and to enquiries and bookings. The applicable data protection laws of Panama and, where applicable in an individual case, the European Union apply.

When the website is accessed, technically necessary connection data may be processed, including IP address, time, requested page, browser, operating system, referrer and status code. This supports secure and stable operation and the investigation of misuse and technical errors.

After you give your consent, the enquiry form sends your details directly by email to Rainforest Lodge. The details are not stored in a WordPress database. After submitting the form, you will automatically receive a confirmation of receipt by email.

Depending on your enquiry, we may process your name, email address, WhatsApp contact, travel dates, number of guests, casa and activity preferences, and your message. WhatsApp’s own terms also apply.

If an enquiry becomes a booking, we process the data required for the offer, contract, travel arrangements, transfer, stay, billing and legal records. Please do not send passport, payment, health or other particularly sensitive data through the general enquiry form.

We process data to answer enquiries, prepare and perform contracts, comply with legal obligations and secure our systems. Where consent is required, it may be withdrawn for the future.

Data is shared only with people and service providers who need it for the relevant purpose, such as hosting, email, communications and IT providers and, for bookings, transfer, tour or service partners. As the lodge operates in Panama, data may be transferred internationally. We do not sell personal data.

Technically necessary cookies may be used to operate the website. The Google Maps map embedded on the contact page is loaded only after your active click; this establishes a connection to Google and Google’s privacy policy applies. Links to WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook or YouTube also lead to external services governed by their own privacy notices.

To protect our contact form against spam and automated enquiries, we use Cloudflare Turnstile, a service provided by Cloudflare, Inc., USA. When the form is accessed, Cloudflare processes technical data, in particular your IP address and information about your browser and connection. This is used to determine whether the request originates from a human.

Cloudflare also uses this data to improve bot detection. Processing may take place in the USA. For more information, see the Cloudflare Turnstile Privacy Notice.

Personal data is retained only for as long as required for enquiries, bookings, stays, security or legal records. It is then deleted or anonymised unless retention or limitation periods require otherwise.

Depending on the applicable law, you may request access, correction, updating, deletion, restriction, portability or object to processing, and may complain to a competent data protection authority. Contact booking@rainforest-lodge.com.

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data. Absolute security of electronic communications cannot be guaranteed.
